1. What do you want listeners to take away from your "2nd Fret" single?
It's really up to individual interpretation. Some may see it as a middle finger towards fake people, while others may see the internal struggle to beat or succumb to addiction. The song has multiple meanings to us, but we hope people take away from it as a well written story converted into song.
2. How's the new music coming along?
We're in the studio now tracking our new album. We have a variety of new music that we hope to get out into the world as soon as possible. We're doing it all ourselves, so it'll take a little bit of time.
3. How was your recent show with Flaw?
Unfortunately, Flaw had to cancel because they got stuck in a blizzard in Wyoming and couldn't make the gig. However, we still rocked that place a new one and made a lot of new fans. It was actually one of our more notable performances.
4. What's your favorite track to play live?
Definitely "Jous De La Fin". That song really pulls the audience in and doesn't let them go until the final note is played. It's a very hypnotic and insanely deep jam.
5. What artists are you currently listening to? Any acts you recommend that people should check out?
We all have very different tastes in music, so to answer this question would be a long read.
We always do advocate for people to keep their eyes on their local scenes though. There are a ton of amazing artists out there that constantly fly under the radar.
6. What was the last concert you went to as a fan?
3/5 of the band recently went to see A Perfect Circle in West Valley City, Utah. It was an incredible show!
7. As an artist, what's your take on the streaming sites (Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, etc.) and how they pay royalties to bands?
We think it's a great way to get your music out there, as long as the artists are compensated for their work. We're actually on Spotify, iTunes, and various other platforms. Personally though, nothing beats the ritual of buying a new physical album and listening to it while you flip through the album's artwork/lyrics/pictures.
8. What's next for Iridia?
We're never really certain what the future holds for us, but we try and remain optimistic, and will continue to work our asses off by doing what we love.
9. What do you want to achieve in the next year?
We would really like to have our album out and start stretching our regional reach. We've been trying to plan mini tours to our neighboring states (Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona...), and get our music out there. To be able to do both of these things within the year would be a huge accomplishment for us.
