1. What are your names and roles in the band?
Band-
Mätze is the singer and guitar player of our band, beside that he´s responsible for the elimination of our beer resources. Andi plays the lead guitar and writes the lyrics together with bass player Tobi. Our drummer Dominik is also very skilled in technical questions.
2. You recently shot a video for "Knights Of Doom", how did that go?
Band-
A friend of ours, who is currently studying film arts, made it with us. We shot the whole thing in two nights in a very cool club in our city. It was very exhausting and breathtaking, but the result is more than satisfying to us and hopefully for the people who enjoy our music as well.
3. You guys just announced a tour with Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn
over Xmas week, you guys excited?
Band-
No, not already, but that´ll come soon. We are really looking forward to be on the road again. The first tour we did was this autumn with devildriver and god forbid across continental europe and we enjoyed that time like hell. So let´s hope it´s going to be fun again.
4. Does it ever bother you with being compared to Killswitch Engage?
Band-
It´s not bothering us at all. People should not forget that we released our first album a few months ago, so it´s obvious that you can hear the direct influences on our sound. But be prepared for the next one, we already started writing on it and if it goes on like that, it´ll hit you like a motherfucker!
5. How was working with Toni Meloni (Caliban, Estate) on the album?
Band-
Toni is a friend of ours since a few years, so the working progress was very relaxed on one side. But we had to work under time pressure, which wasn´t to pleasing. Toni is a great guy and we can always relate on his help or advices. Thx dude!!!
6. Is there any Australian bands that people should check out?
Band-
There are plenty of Australian bands you should check out like Parkway Drive, Wolfmother or AC/DC. But I guess you meant Austrian bands;-) sure, check out In Slumber, a great death metal band from Linz or Before The Fall From Vienna, they are kicking it brutal! There are not too many bands that are worth mentioning, but give the scene a few years and you will hear more about it!
7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?
Band-
I can´t tell you really why, but we all love to play “The Dagger Thrust”, it´s old school swedish death metal riffing, new school breakdowns and a really cool melodic chorus. The people seem to dig it as well…
8. Any thought of coming over here to the US to tour?
Band-
No, unfortunately not already. Our label is still looking for a distribution company, so as long as our records won´t be sold in the states, the chance is very little to come over;-(
9. What are you currently listening to?
Band-
We all love Devildriver at the moment, The Last Kind Words record is the shit! As well as Mercenary, Tool or classics like Pantera, Priest, Machine Head or Faith No more.
10. What's next for The Sorrow?
Band-
After Christmas the tour with Caliban ad Heaven Shall Burn is taking place. In early 2008 we will fly to Helsinki, Finland, and a lot of festivals for next summer are already confirmed. It´s going to be off the chain like P. Diddy would say;-)
