1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Black Sick” and is there any meaning behind it?
I (Vince) created Black Sick in 2014 with Fred (former drummer). Our goal was to mix Stoner Rock and Grunge music, Black Sabbath and Nirvana sound.
Black Sick means black vomit. A bad experience after a night of drinking too much alcohol.
2. What do you want listeners to take away from your "Kiss Your Enemy" EP?
Rage, authenticity , honesty and unconventionality.
3. What can people expect from your live show?
Rage, authenticity , honesty and unconventionality ;). Onstage we try to have the same energy and the same rage that our music has.
4. What's your favorite track to play live?
"Kiss Your Enemy". It truly represents our style.
5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Witchcraft, Red Fang and Sleep.
6. Any crazy show stories?
At the London Festival (Deserfest), we met and drank beers with the guys from Red Fang and ate breakfast with Matt Pike from Sleep. Crazy moments.
7. What’s your take on the current state of Grunge Rock?
For us the Grunge of 90s is gone. We need to create a new style. The STUNGE!(Stoner Grunge).
8. What’s the current music scene like there in the France both locally and country wide?
Music in France is very sanitized but we have a good independent scene. Bands like Loading Data are very good. Their last album was recorded with Alain Johannes L.A.
9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?
Unfortunately it’s the evolution of the world that does it :(. CDs are no longer selling. Bands need to make a living by touring 8 months minimum in the year. That's the sad reality.
10. What’s next for Black Sick?
There is a new lineup within the past month with Djull and Ron. We are excited! We want to play the most shows possible. We want to book a mini tour in UK and record a new EP or album. We hope that the collaboration with From The Depths Entertainment will make us grow!
