"Wayside" Music Video:
One Step From Falling from Syracuse, New York have described their sound as "heady metal". What does that mean? Let's dive in to their recent "The Wayside" EP and find out. "Lungo la Strada" kicks off the EP with an almost tribal like sound that permeates throughout the track. While sound bands go for a more harder sound as the first track on an EP, One Step From Falling go a different direction and it simply works. "Wayside" is a single off the EP and blasts right in with a crunchy riff. The track never lets up. There's a touch of early Deftones influence on the track. It's a very nice complement to the track before it. "Black Cosstice" is a rockin' good time of a track and brings an A Perfect Circle vibe with it. The track is simply brilliant and takes you on a musical journey through its four minute length. "Eyeferu" picks up the pace and pumps out a high octane hard rock sound. The track is extremely radio friendly and brings to mind the early sound of Chevelle. "Paroxysm" starts off with a "Re-Animator" movie audio clip and then breaks into a six and a half minute romp through Tool like territory. It's definitely a stand out track for anyone who wants to lose themselves in a track. "Man From Outer Space" could be an early Incubus b-side. It's extremely bouncy and funky. Any early Incubus fan will fall in love with this track. "Rigamortis" is another mind blower of a track. It features the A Perfect Circle influence heard earlier in "Black Cosstice" and really rolls with it. It's an awesome track. "Left Behind" closes things out in high style. The track flows perfectly and ends on a high note. One Step From Falling bring that signature "heady metal" style that will surely have a long lasting appeal to anyone who listens to this EP.
