From: Kansas City, MO
Sounds like: Post Hardcore

This release is the newest offering from Kansas City post hardcore band Scarlet View. Let's dig in and see what they're all about. "(Make) Believe" starts the EP off with an electronic post hardcore sound that brings to mind I See Stars or His Statue Falls. There's a ton of melody that meshes well together with some heavy breakdowns and harsh vocals. It's an outstanding opening track "Davey Jones" is the lead single off the EP. The track goes straight for the jugular with its synth laden, driving riffs and catchy sing along chorus. "Wall" brings a different sound to the EP. There's a dash of turntable scratching intermittently during the track as the track teeters more towards the nu metal side of things. "Be" is an extremely catchy upbeat rock track. It screams single as it tears through its near four minute length. "Gasoline River" keeps the pace moving in the hard rock territory. The track really shines with a Buckcherry type sound mixed with the infectious sound of Scarlet View. "Blackwater" gets going right away and its energy never lets up. The track is a electronic post hardcore fans dream as it seamlessly melds together synth, screams, and melody. It's incredibly easy to sing along to the track. Closing out the EP is the high octane track "Addictions, Convictions, Lies In The Rope". The track takes no prisoners and doesn't shy away from mixing together different genres.

Verdict:
Scarlet View are fearless in their sound and that makes this EP really unique and refreshing to hear.
