Sounds like: Hard Rock

This highly anticipated album from Canada's Tenth Planet came out last month and was produced by Mike Turner (Our Lady Peace, Crash Karma). Let's delve in and see what it's all about. "Watch It Burn" is a melodic Rock opener that helps set the tone early and often. It'll strike a chord with fans of Rock music due to everything working in perfect unison to create a monster of an opener. It's no wonder it was the first single off the album. "Blades" kicks up the intensity and continues the Melodic Hard Rock appeal. The track oozes confidence and brings to mind Alter Bridge. "City Of Light" starts off slow but then explodes into a wall of sound that features shades of Godsmack. The track has the perfect mix of melody, hard rock riffs and catchy appeal. "Into The Fold" builds atmosphere before transitioning into a head banging breakdown. The track really knows how to take the listener on the emotional roller coaster on the track. It dips and climbs with a soft and hard sound throughout its five and a half minute length. The guitar solo on the track is outstanding. "Pieces" is the title track off the album and doesn't shy away from breaking things down to a softer side of the band. The track is a rock ballad that'll pull at the heartstrings of the listener. "Along For The Kill" brings back the Hard Rock tendencies of the earlier tracks. The track is a welcoming listen for anyone looking for a song to tap your toe and bang your head to. The guitar riff throughout is really catchy and helps build the foundation of the track perfectly. When the track does dip down to a softer level, it does so with ease. Once again, the guitar solo on the track is top notch. "Where's My God?" is a track that has shades of Grunge while still maintaining the signature Tenth Planet sound. The track should be a hit with fans as it's hard as nails but still has a ton of melody. "The Way It Was" is a radio friendly Rock track through and through. It's a hit in the making and breezes by with a multi layered Rock sound that isn't as hard as the previous tracks. "Shining Down" is an extremely Hard track. It pulls no punches with its in your face intensity. When the track breaks into its melodic chorus, it does so in a way that brings to mind good ol' Arena Rock. "Transgressions" has hit written all over it. The track digs deep in the arsenal and pulls out a chugging, masterpiece. Listen to this track right now! "The Window" closes out the album in epic fashion. The eight minute track takes the listener on a haunting, slower pace that is super powerful and passionate. They close out a fantastic album with an epic closer that's too good to be missed.

Verdict:
Tenth Planet have a monster Hard Rock album here that'll melt your face off.
