1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “New Age Affair” and is there any meaning behind it?
We have all been playing music for a while now, collectively we have 15+ years experience in performing music. The developing of our sound almost came naturally, we started playing together and it just developed over time. Derek thought of the name, the meaning behind it is all relative to the listener and that was the intent. We wanted to have a name that could mean something unique to each individual.
2. What do you want people to take away from your upcoming "Slip Away" single?
The song itself is based around domestic violence, but we hope that each individual sees meaning in their own way.
3. What's your favorite track to play live?
It's hard to say, it really depends on the show. A safe bet would be 'Slip Away' it tends to really get the crowd moving.
4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Blink-182, A Day To Remember and Modest Mouse.
5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?
"Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" - Blink-182

"Camp Kill Yourself, Vol.1" - CKY
6. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?
Rock is making a comeback, it never really died but it also hasn't been in the majority of the mainstream. Somewhere, there's going to be a band that brings it back to the majorities eye.
7. What’s the current music scene like there in South Dakota both locally and state wide?
South Dakota has a huge Country and Classic Rock scene, there is a small Punk/Metal scene in Rapid City.
8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?
There is no need to download music illegally, when things such as; YouTube, Spotify and Pandora exist. People fail to realize the effect that downloading music illegally has on the music industry and the musicians themselves.
9. What’s next for New Age Affair?
We are in the process of recording our debut album, the release date is currently not set but we are very excited to be working towards the completion.
