Sounds like: Death Metal
Kingdom Faust are an anomaly on the Death Metal scene. They're a band from South Carolina that incorporate different styles of Metal such as Black Metal, Death Metal and even Viking Metal. How does it fare? Let's dive on in and find out. "Intro" opens up the album in instrumental fashion to help set the "calm before the storm" vibe that's about to be unleashed. It might be strictly instrumental but it's hard as nails right from the get go. "Gates Of Abomination" digs in and goes straight for the jugular. The track is a non-stop ride through the depths of the Death Metal realms. There's a Cannibal Corpse influence on the track as it's just sheer brutality. The track switches up halfway through to reveal a fast and heavy instrumental section that takes things to an entirely different level. "Northern Star" pulls no punches as Opeth influences, and even Neurosis in a few parts, come to light on the track. The track has tons of depth and while taking things down a notch in the speed department, it still shreds. "God Of Plagues" is a seven minute audio guide on how to create a spectacular Metal track. The track is top notch in its delivery and execution. Everything is cranked up to 11 on the track and every Metal fan needs to hear it. "Indignation" is pure chaos in all of its glory. The track is outstanding and brings their Death Metal style to the forefront for all to hear."Pull The Plug" is a Death cover and the band put their twist on it perfectly. The track is hard, heavy and will create bouts of whiplash with it being so headbang-able. "Eons Under A Fallen King" closes out the album with a nice Metal bow. The track and entire EP is a true testament to the genre as Kingdom Faust aim put their mark in the scene for quite some time to come.
Verdict:
Kingdom Faust aim for destruction with their new "Fallen King" album.
