Sounds like: Metal

Crawling Manifest are back and more angry than ever with their new "Battlegrounds" full length album. Just in time before they head out on their tour alongside fellow Maryland Metal act Dead Atlantic, let's take a listen to see what their new album has to offer. The opener "Hall of the Gods" starts things off in high octane fashion. The Thrash like tendencies are on full display as the riffs and vocals drive full speed ahead. The clean sung chorus brings to mind Iron Maiden as it simply soars into the atmosphere. The riffs keep coming in the next verse and transitions naturally into the super catchy chorus. Halfway through the track, the guitar takes over for a powerful guitar solo which simply shreds. The ending of the track is bonkers and somehow kicks things even up faster, louder and more melodic. "Maiden" is balls to the wall Metal at its finest. It doesn't let up at all in its four minute span. The intense breakdowns, not overly used clean vocals and metallic riffs make this a can't miss track. There's a slight early Atreyu vibe to the track with its instrumentation. "Undying" is tough as nails. The track is more Children Of Bodom in its ferocity and sound. It once again shows the depth and talent of what the band is capable of. "Raise Your Glass" opens with a gnarly guitar riff before putting its foot on the accelerator with an eruption of high speed Metal. The melodic Metal sound keeps things interesting throughout with some sing alongs, clean vocals, gang vocals and riffs for days. "Break Me Away" is fast and unrelenting. The track has a whirlwind Metal sound to it but when it breaks into the melodic chorus, it helps give it that depth to make it an awesome track to get lost in. "Battlegrounds" has a throwback Metal feel to it. It's almost Thrash Metal in its approach and will get the headbangers getting whiplash in no time. The track has a nice feel to it and really sets itself apart from the previous track nicely. "Speed Demon" is exactly as the song suggests. The track has shades of Megadeth and will get the circle pits moving in full force. The breakdown halfway through the track is glorious as well as the guitar work is top notch. "Valhalla Awaits" is a bit slower of a track with more crunch than the previous tracks. The riffs take on another life as it helps drive the track to new heights. The bridge is a nice melodic touch before blasting back into the melodic, but still crushing chorus. "Northern Winds" picks up the pace and unleashes hell. The track needs to be heard to be believed. Truly remarkable track to jam out to. The closing track "Eternal War" is an epic closer. The eight and a half minute long track is Metal at its finest. Crawling Manifest have outdone themselves with this release and if you're a fan of Metal, you really need this album in your life.

Verdict:
Crawling Manifest serve up a full length album filled to the brim with a vicious Metal sound.
