Sounds like: Metal

Suits and Daggers describe their sound as "Victory Metal". What exactly does that consist of? Take a glance at our new review and we'll tell you. The opening track "Vendetta" begins with an almost symphonic Metal sound. The clean/harsh vocals along with the ever changing melodic riffs make it a truly unique Metal sounding track. "Defender" chugs right in with a mosh inducing breakdown. The track eventually breaks into a melodic chorus that brings to mind Bury Tomorrow. Overall the track has a more Melodic Metalcore vibe than the opener. "Cold Karma" fires on all cylinders. The track drives along on a high speed clip and doesn't let up. "Out Of Lights Reach" is an incredible Metal track. The time changes, riffs and excellent vocals make it a worthwhile masterpiece in any Metalheads collection. "Solitude" has a bit more melody to it but it sticks along the Iron Maiden path. The track has a throwback Metal feel to it and it works pretty well in that regard. "Velvet Glove" is heavy as hell. While the track does have clean sung melody, it doesn't overshadow the track. "The Cure" is another blistering Metalcore track. The track shows what the band is really capable off when they really let loose. "The Sirens" is more of a Metal rollercoaster as it features twists and turns that keeps the listener on edge. The clean and harsh vocals go back and forth while the instrumentation keeps everything heavy. "Empathy" continues the onslaught of Metalcore. The track is a bit schizophrenic in that that tempo is both up and down during its four minute span. "Tranquility" is a fantastic track to lose yourself in. Everything works perfectly and really should be a single. Talking about singles, the title track "Frozen Planet" is up next and it doesn't disappoint. The track brings to mind early As I Lay Dying with its Melodic Metalcore vibes. The closing track "My Shelter" builds slowly but eventually erupts with more of the symphonic Metal sound found on the opener. It's diverse but so is the band. If you're looking for a more diverse, deeper Metal sound, Suits and Daggers should be right up your alley.

Verdict:
Suits and Daggers blow the doors off the Metal genre with their newest album.
