Sounds like: Punk Rock/Post Hardcore
From: Arizona

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "Boo Box" come about and is there any meaning to it?

We started out playing in our garages and basements, experimenting with different sounds and influences until we found our own unique voice. As for the name "Boo Box," it was actually a joke that stuck - we were looking for a name that was memorable and a little bit spooky, and "Boo Box" just seemed to fit the bill.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

We want people to feel something when they listen to our music - whether it's anger, joy, or just a sense of connection with the world around them. Our music is all about expressing ourselves and connecting with others who share our passion.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Our sound is a blend of punk rock, post-hardcore, and shoegaze, with a healthy dose of desert psychedelia thrown in for good measure. It's like if Fugazi and My Bloody Valentine had a baby and raised it in the Arizona desert.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

We'd love to tour with bands like IDLES, Daughters, and Metz - they're all pushing the boundaries of punk rock in exciting new directions.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

AI-generated music is a fascinating development, but we don't think it can ever fully replace the human element of music-making. There's something special about the connection between musicians and their instruments, and the chemistry that develops when you're playing together in a room.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Alternative Rock?

Punk rock is in an interesting place right now - it's more diverse and experimental than ever before, but it's also facing a lot of challenges in terms of maintaining its political edge and staying true to its DIY roots. We think there's still a lot of room for punk to evolve and grow, as long as it stays true to its core values.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Arizona?

The Arizona music scene is vibrant and eclectic, with a strong DIY ethos and a lot of cross-pollination between different genres and styles. There's a great community of musicians and fans here, and we're proud to be a part of it.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

The royalties that streaming services pay out to artists are frankly pretty pitiful, and we think it's time for a major overhaul of the way that artists are compensated for their work. We'd love to see more transparency and equity in the way that music is monetized online.

9. What’s next for Boo Box?

Next up for Boo Box is a new EP that we're really excited about - it's some of our most experimental and ambitious work yet, and we can't wait to share it with the world.

10. Any shoutouts?

Shoutout to all the amazing bands and fans in the Arizona music scene - we couldn't do this without your support and inspiration!
