1. What's new with The Recasts?

We have some new Members since last year. We welcomed David Esquivel and Brian Gilmore on guitars. We have also signed with Curtain Call Records.

2. What can you tell us about new music?

New music is in store, we will be back at FL Recording with Fern Lemus in January 2025. We are absolutely excited about where we are going as a band. Every practice together, something new happens. It’s an incredible environment!

3. What have been some highlights within the past year for the band?

We pulled off some large shows and were able to raise some money for organizations such as Soldiers’ Angels. I think we also set our feet with where we are going as a band. We had some great shows, and some we learned from as well. Met some really amazing people and had some great experiences that will pave the way for The Recasts moving forward.

4. Your visual style (artwork, music video, etc.) has always been impressive, what can you tell us about that?

We work with Mandy at Urban Skilled for all of our artwork. She is incredible and is able to relay what we are going through in the designs she does for us. We’ve been working with Mandy for so long, there is a synergy there.

5. What are some pre-show rituals you may have?

Mainly, we run through our set and make sure we all help each other as much as possible. Whatever we have been going through that week, or that day, we just get through it together, and we can feel that strength on stage.

6. What's your favorite show you've ever played and why?

I would say my favorite show, was the 10-year anniversary show. It felt like my parents had passed, but we had a packed house, all our families were there, and it just showed me that it needed to continue. My parents were definitely in attendance as well. They never missed a show, and still haven’t.

7. What's something you wish you could change about your local music scene?

I’m not sure I would change anything. We all bring something different to the table. The scene is constantly changing. If we support and help each other to give showgoers great shows every time, then we are doing our jobs in my opinion.

8. What are you currently listening to?

Mando- Currently, I’ve been listening to the new Lenny Kravitz album Electric Blue Light, Lynnwood King, A Day to Remember, Danny Worsnop, Knocked Loose, Post Malone and Deserts of Mars mostly.

Michael - I've been listening to The Misfits, The Cramps, White Zombie, The Heroine, Queensryche (original line up) and believe it or not, Every time my Wife gets in the car with me, she puts on our album Devastator.

Dan- Gojira!

Brian- Oh man, I'm all over the place. A mix of Thrown, A Day to Remember, Cytotoxin, Killswitch Engage and The Midnight.

David- Aurora, Avenged Sevenfold, 30 Second to Mars, La Sonora Dinamita

9. What do you wish to accomplish in the next year?

We hope to play some big shows, meet some great people and put out some great, new music together.
