1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "Sick of Mondays" come about and is there any meaning to it?

I always wanted to do music since I was a teenager so I started at the age of 17 playing guitar and went on from there, the sound is very pop punk which was the style I grew up listening to the most and knew I wanted to make something like that. The name sick of Mondays came from the idea of hating waking up on Monday to go to work or school and basically prefer the weekends haha!

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

The music we create we want people to get the nostalgia feeling and our new music we’re working on will be very personal struggles, etc so we hope our new music will be able to help people through hard times and get a kick out of the catchy lyrics and music.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Pop punk/Emo.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Real friends, Blink 182, and State Champs.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

There’s nothing wrong with AI music as it can help broaden the musical spectrum and even help bands come up with new ideas and experiments.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Pop Punk?

It’s not as popular as it was in the 2000s but we’re hoping it’ll make the comeback soon!

7. What’s the current music scene like there in North Carolina?

Everyone here is very supportive but the scene is also pretty small for rock/metal.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

I feel like it could be better payouts for musicians who spend a lot of time and money making the music I feel like the payouts should be higher.

9. What’s next for Sick of Mondays?

We’re working on a full length album that’ll soon be released later in December!

10. Any shoutouts?

No.
