1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "All Black Horizon" come about and is there any meaning to it?

My dad was always super into music and wanted to be a musician. That was always a huge inspiration to me! We were in completely opposite genres but it was still a joint passion that we had that brought us closer together! I always knew the kind of sound I wanted to have, when I founded this whole project and started planning things out in their infancy I had a clear sound in my head inspired by all of the bands that made me fall in love with the rock/metal genre.

The name All Black Horizon is actually so simple and kind of a funny story! I was struggling to find a name that fit and told the story I wanted it to and I started going through my library of music and found 3 bands that made me fall in love with music and took a small piece from each name and combined them into one and fell in love with it. I built onto the name with the aesthetics of everything as well and before I knew it I had a winner! Really the name is just an extension of myself and the things I love.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

If people take anything away from the music I want it to be a couple of things. Take the world by the throat and don't let go! Be proud in who you are! It is awesome being different! I don't want anybody to think that All Black Horizon is preachy or something to cringe at like it's over the top nonsense. The message I have poured into the lyrics are all from life experiences I have gone through. They are portrayed in a different way than most other music with this kind of lyrical content. The songs are portrayed as concept record, telling a comic book-esc story with larger than life characters and hidden depth storytelling.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

I think if I had to describe the sound to a brand new listener I would say heavy hitting rock and roll with a modern metal twist similar to bands like Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria, and Ice Nine Kills

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

I think this may be the easiest question of the whole interview haha! Hands down, the three bands I would like to tour with more than anything are Black Veil Brides, Ice Nine Kills, and Motionless In White!

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

I think it is neat in theory, if people use it correctly! There's definitely times as an artist that you don't know exactly where to go with a song or a lyric so using those tools to help get some ideas and guidelines can be useful as long as it's not being used to write entire songs or being relied on for every aspect of your career. It is a very fine line to walk and I don't think most people understand that.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?

I think that Rock and Roll is in a great place right now! There are a lot of new artists coming into the scene. There are also more festivals and opportunities for them than ever! But, like anything else, there are definitely some obstacles to overcome. I truly believe that if these new artists coming into the scene are willing to work hard and commit, the future of rock will continue to flourish for a very long time!

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Wisconsin?

Honestly the music scene in Wisconsin is not very good. It feels very "highschool" in the sense that everything is very cliquey. It's tough to really find anybody to work with in almost every avenue, from live shows to other bands and so much more!

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

While it is nice that these services exist now compared to the music scene a decade or so ago, it is a double edged sword! There are a lot of ways for up and coming artists to get themselves out there through these services, but the algorithms are not always friendly. Some artists really can't make enough in their streams to keep up the basic costs of maintaining their music on these platforms. This results in them having to pay for outside services to boost their reach or them just giving up entirely because they feel their music isn't good enough!

9. What’s next for All Black Horizon?

The next big plan for All Black Horizon is to get the debut record wrapped up and put out everywhere possible! There is a music video that is currently in the works as well! Once those are finished up the plan is to hit the road again and play some kick ass shows for anyone who will listen!

10. Any shoutouts?

I want to give a shout out to my producers and collaborators for coming together and putting so much hard work into the record! I would also like to thank Christian Coma "CC" of Black Veil Brides for having faith in my music and offering me some feedback on some of the tracks on the record!
