Against Everyone is a hardcore-beatdown band coming out of Baltimore, MD. Strongly influenced bands such as Black My Heart, Trapped Under Ice, and Terror, staying tied to their roots while blending a more modern and heavier sound. Against Everyone formed with a vision of creating songs with hard two-steps, violent breakdowns, with vocals full of rage to incite the crowd into chaos.

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "Against Everyone" come about and is there any meaning to it?
Vince Giordano (vocalist): The band was formed in 2010 from the members of a local band called Damascas. The band's vision was to bring a nice, heavy, metallic sound from the 2005 era of hardcore. The band wrote a demo of a single that would later be recorded on their debut EP that summer. The band played a few local shows with some greats, opening for ENDWELL, and the Mongoloids. The EP sold out at their third and last show before an unfortunate hiatus for over a decade. Then in 2021, the drummer (Brian) and I got in touch and decided that the band had not even begun to take shape back then before it ended and so they reunited. The band was formed again with the drummer's little brother (Mikey), who had grown up with the guys in the original era of the band. They immediately began work on an EP titled “Fist Of Steel” which they re-recorded 2 songs off the original from years ago. They wrote 2 new songs and released the EP in 2022. The bands friends and community quickly picked up the sound the band was going for and they continued to write more music. Eventually releasing a 2 song demo in fall 2023. These songs would be a preview to the debut album, “A Dead Walk" The band put out the album, in winter 2024. Soon after this they began playing shows and quickly picked up a following around the Baltimore area. Eventually traveling to play many shows in MD, PA, WV, and DC. The band's name really came from trying to set a foundation of what we were about. A lot of bands back in the 2000’s had a lot of bands they were friends with and also had followings that came with the members. Our band was different in we all came from previous projects that all garnered their own followings and really were starting from scratch. There wasn’t a band doing what we were trying to in our area at the time and so we saw it as us vs everyone else to be established. The name just stuck and in meaning, also represents the messaging in a lot of our music. Hardcore is a genre that brings a lot of solitary people together. The music is very strong in standing firm with your resilience. It talks about staying in the fight of life, no matter what the odds are. There's a belligerent attitude to the sound we have developed, and we want our listeners to be emboldened to follow their own path ,and be indestructible in nature, having to live in todays world.
2. What do you want people to take away from your music?
Vince Giordano (vocalist): The general goal of Against Everyone is just bringing moshers together. We make music for the kids who are hungry and want to go to every show they can and spin kick. We made this band with the perspective of what we would want to hear, if we were watching us. We hope that the lyrics to our songs bring strength to the people who need it, and continues to carry meaning in their lives, as they go.
3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?
Mikey Rice (guitarist): Heavy, hard-hitting, powerful.
4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Brian Rice (drummer): We would love to do tours with Dared2Live, Sukkawut, and Hipfire.
5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?
Josh Boyle (bassist): It's whack, especially people making AI music of other bands and releasing it like it's someone else's.
6. What’s your take on the current state of Hardcore?
Josh Boyle (bassist): I really got into the local hardcore scene since joining Against Everyone, it's been pretty cool so far, the community is very tight and welcoming.
7. What’s the current music scene like there in Baltimore?
Brian Rice (drummer): The local scene in Baltimore is booming with dope bands. For sure have some new up and coming bands to check out. Shows are usually full of energy and we need to make Baltimore a staple spot for touring bands to come to. Some reason we get missed a lot but it’s time to change that.
8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?
Mikey Rice (guitarist): It's kind of sad to make almost nothing off streams, but with everyone using streaming platforms for music, we gotta go with the flow.
9. What’s next for Against Everyone?
Brian Rice (drummer): Next for Against Everyone is playing shows spread out around the east coast. New music is coming and we will always be writing new stuff. Looking forward to meeting new bands and people to share the love of hardcore with.
10. Any shoutouts?
Mikey Rice (guitarist): Shout out to the bands Sukkawut, Rundown, Dared2Live, D.O.V.E, Loose Screw, In Jest, Hipfire, Beast From The East, and Delenda. And shout out to No Space for Enemies, Sickboy Booking, Goomba Productions, East Coast Metal Mayhem, and Ride Slow Entertainment.
