"Hollowed Ground came together in the city of Indianapolis in Summer 2010. That is when HG introduced themselves to the Indianapolis Hard Rock and Metal crowds and started to pave their way of doing what they've always wanted to do. Rock out to the masses. Together Hollowed Ground is a part of the Midwest's growing Hard Rock, and Heavy Metal scene. In the summer of 2017 they released their Self-Titled independent album. In the last few months of 2022 with shows already on the books around the Midwest, they needed to add the final piece to the line-up and after a couple of people give it really good runs, Bassist Terry "Redeyez" Moore came in and with nearly 30 years of tearing up the stages in Indianapolis, and surrounding areas. His audition was a ray of light for the guys. The chemistry was instant and he worked hard to get up to speed on the tunes already finished, and also brought in a whole shit ton of music for them to record.
You may ask yourself, what makes Hollowed Ground so special? The key to that question lies within the bands astounding sound. The music created by this quintet speaks to us in volumes. From raw machine-like power, to an endless array of emotion generated by this group. Each member comes from a different plain in the music spectrum, yet each member coincides with one another in perfect harmony. When you see Hollowed Ground, you will see them, and understand where the vibrant energy in their music comes from. You will see there is no smoke, and there are no mirrors. Hollowed Ground is a group of serious musicians with the talent, and the ability to succeed. From anger, anxiety, frustration, and loneliness to empathy, compassion and desire. These are but a few of the feelings expressed with there heartfelt emotions. The members of this band have created a collage of fiction, truth, fantasy, and reality. Coupled with that is the fact that these lyrics are thought provoking, and insightful. Additionally the music is artfully blended. From the bone crunching guitar riffs from the talented Greg McCombs, the thunderous sounds of bass from Terry "Redeyez" Moore, earth shattering beats from Rodney Cripe, the melodic lines, screams of anger, and distorted guitar madness from the ever charismatic singer/guitarist James Barnett, Hollowed Ground has woven a tight straight-jacket like confinement in their songs.
