Paracrona

Paracrona (Metal) - Norway

We are PARACRONA.

Paracrona, a powerful force in the blackened death metal scene, was formed in 2016 after a chance meeting between Ringo Christiaan Van Droffelaar and Øystein Hansen at the Wacken Open Air Festival in 2007. Bringing together talent from the Netherlands and Norway, the band combines Øystein’s skilled guitar work with Ringo’s passionate songwriting and vocals, resulting in a unique sound they call "Titanium".

The band's debut album, Sun God, is a dark exploration of ancient mysticism and modern societal issues. Originally released in 2023 and re-released on CD in 2024 through Wormholedeath Records, the album has become a defining work for Paracrona. Notably, the LP version remains available for release on a different label, and the band is open to signing a deal that aligns with their artistic vision.

Ringo's journey with Paracrona has been marked by significant personal challenges. He endured a period of homelessness in Oslo, struggling to survive while working on the band's music. During this difficult time, he was supported by Nattefrost of Carpathian Forest, who played a crucial role in helping him navigate these hardships. Despite these struggles, including a battle with cancer in 2021, Ringo’s resilience has been a driving force behind Paracrona’s continued success.

The band's live performances, particularly the album release concert at Cosmopolite Scene in Oslo, have solidified their reputation for delivering intense and unforgettable shows. The current lineup features Ringo on vocals, Øystein on lead guitar, Audun Melby on rhythm guitar, and Gregg Roland Schneider on bass. Paracrona is actively seeking a permanent drummer to join their ranks and is open to signing with a label that offers a strong partnership.
